DK Blackfish — Two-Day Rope Intensive

This year, international rope artist and presenter DK Blackfish will lead a special two-day advanced rope intensive as part of the OZ KINK FEST Weekend Workshop Intensives.

Rather than a series of individual workshops, this intensive is designed as a continuous two-day learning experience, allowing participants to work in greater depth, build progressively across both days, and explore DK Blackfish’s approach to rope, suspension, movement and connection.

Level Advanced+

Prerequisites

This intensive is designed for an experienced Rigger and Rope Model pair.

Riggers must:

Be experienced and confident with basic suspensions and 360° suspension work.

Be confident tying TKs/gotes and main suspension lines.

Have a strong understanding of rope safety and risk management.

Understand the difference between temporary numbness or a “sleeping” limb, nerve impingement and potential nerve injury.

Rope Models must:

Have previous suspension experience.

Be comfortable being tied in a traditional gote/TK.

Have good body awareness and an understanding of their own strengths, limitations and challenges in rope.

Participants should arrive prepared for two full days of progressive, practical rope work.

Important: This is one two-day intensive. Registration is for the complete program and participants are expected to attend both days.
